NJLS at RailCamp and at New Hope and Ivyland:
Mike Muldowney returned to RailCamp this summer at Steamtown, Scranton, PA. This is his second year as a counselor and he really enjoys it. He just passed his exam today for his L series license. He formerly had an S class fireman's license. He can now move a light locomotive in the yard and can run a train under the supervision of a T class licensed engineer.
Mike has been back at the New Hope & Ivyland since mid-May. He is often training student firemen. Here are a couple of current photos of Mike at work and a photo of the regular engineer blowing down the locomotive in the morning. I got lucky on that shot! (by Ron Muldowney, July 5, 2007).
Glenn Papp is also now working at the shop on the NH&I and plans to be getting qualified to go on the road as a student fireman. Experience can be a great teacher.
